Industrial Avalanche Awareness
Hyland Backcountry developed this course to assist a worker in avalanche terrain for industrial settings such as oil & gas, hydro, mining, or forestry.
This course is for companies who are working on some of the large natural resource projects in the northwest under established Avalanche Safety Plans, and who need employees trained for such.

Avalanche Awareness for Helicopter Pilots
Hyland Backcountry lead instructor Sean Fraser has over 20 years flight experience, and well over 1000Hrs of airtime in rotary wing operations throughout western Canada with a variety of AC types. This course was developed to teach pilots the basics of avalanche safety, and to assist them in making better decisions during winter mountain flight operations. The course should be considered for new pilots, or those just completing mountain flight training, or experienced pilots who want to learn more about snow avalanches. It is also appropriate for Chief Pilots, field AME’s, Ops Managers and OHS Reps. Students will learn:
